Special attention has been paid to the completeness of the seal sets which are suitable for these engines. In addition to the cylinder head gasket set (WG1380222), it also contains a seal for the exhaust manifold.
These seals are made of the high quality ElroTherm, a proprietary composition from Elring. The cylinder head gasket in this set has a fitting thickness of 0.9 mm. A repair gasket with a thickness of 1.2 mm is also available.
The exhaust manifold seal on these engines cannot be reused. A heat-resistant coating has been applied to this seal, which is transferred to the sealing surface in front of the cylinder head during installation. Before application, the surface must be checked to ensure that it is thoroughly clean and free of oil residues, grease or dirt. When mounting, it is wise to use the prescribed tightening torque of 15 Nm.
