Points to note for engines

The Porsche 911 series is supplied with several types of engines. However, the basis of these engines is the same. This means that the points to note are also the same such as oil leaks. Parts such as crankshaft seals, pistons, spark plugs, rocker arms and bearings need to be replaced.

As with other vehicles, especially classic cars, correct and timely maintenance is important in order to avoid many problems. Good lubrication and sealing are very important. When a Porsche is meticulously looked after in a timely manner, the frequency of the aforementioned issues will be less.

Timing chains and chain tensioners

Another point to note with this Porsche is that the chain tensioners can cause problems. The chain tensioner ensures that the chain is always kept at the right tension so that it can run smoothly and does not rattle. Too little tension on the chains can result in catastrophic engine damage and it is therefore important that the parts are replaced as soon as possible when this is discovered.

Pistons

Together with the customer, our specialist looked at various brands in our range, but these pistons were no longer available. This situation means that we cannot deliver directly anymore. We then offer the tailor-made service where our specialist gives you advice and checks whether special features or specific characteristics (such as oversize) still need to be applied. Next, this information is sent with the old pistons to the manufacturer, CP Carrillo, where the parts are made according to the original specifications.

Gaskets
