German craftsmanship - the subject of this blog. It is a story about two big names in the automotive industry: BMW and Elring. Under the hood, it is a combination that works very well, even after a repair or overhaul. Thanks to Elring gaskets of OE quality. A compact, modular engine built into several BMW models as well as some MINIs. Details: The B37 is a diesel engine on the principle of three-cylinder-in-line. They are equipped with adjustable camshafts and a turbocharger using the "Twin Turbo Technology" injection system.

A sporty engine in the long BMW tradition with six-cylinder engines. They were improved further each time. This spirited 3.0 engine came on the market in 2015 as a successor to the BMW N55 engine, again significantly improved. Elring gaskets for the electric BMW i3 Range Extender

The BMW i3 is actually an electric car. Yet the i3's 125kW engine won't get far without the gasoline-powered range extender. A motor that starts automatically as soon as the battery's charge capacity drops below 7%. A 9-liter fuel tank powers this small engine. Thus, it manages to increase the car's range by up to 150 additional kilometers. Elring has an extensive product program for this water-cooled two-cylinder inline engine. In addition, Elring today also makes parts specifically for e-mobility.

Elring gaskets for the BMW N20 four-cylinder gasoline engine

The BMW N20 can be found in BMW models from 2011 to 2017. It is a turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with a displacement of 1.6 or 2.0 liters. An engineering feat from BMW and very efficient, as the N20 engine works with variable valve timing, the BMW VANOS system (Variable Nockenwellensteuerung), plus a twin-scroll turbocharger. The N20's power output is similar to predecessors N52 and N53, but the engine has higher torque at lower revs. That means it is more economical yet mighty.
