The original company was formed when brothers George and Earl Holley started the Holley Motor Company in 1899. Together, they produced some of the first vehicles, such as the Runabout and the Motorette. In 1904, they developed the first original carburetor, nicknamed Iron Pot. Oldsmobile used this carburetor in the 'Curved Dash,' the first car to go into mass production. After this development, the Holley brothers started to focus on the production of carburetors. Among their first customers was Henry Ford with the T-Ford.
The brothers developed and marketed various carburetors with companies such as Ford in the following years. In addition to producing carburetors, the company also focused on creating and developing ignition systems, fuel pumps, and other engine components. Over the years, the Holley Company has continued to grow, partly through acquiring and integrating various brands.
Holley supplied carburetors to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup and almost every NHRA Pro-stock champion for over four decades until those classes switched to electronic fuel injection. Holley now produces and supplies various products for, among others, the famous General Motors LS engine, as well as high-quality fuel pumps, intake manifolds, and various other parts for street performance, racing, and marine applications. In addition to its own Holley brand, the family consists of multiple brands, including Quick Fuel, MSD, NOS, Simpson, and Mr. Gasket.
Holley Performance Products produces, among other things, high-quality carburetors, manifolds, superchargers, and water pumps. Wilmink Engine Parts supplies various products from Holley and related brands within the Holley family.
