Timing chains from iwis are undeniably linked to the automotive world. This German company has been around since 1916 with its current headquarters in Munich. The brand is an OE supplier of timing chains for several well-known vehicle brands and now also it has a product line for the aftermarket. More than 500 different timing chains are available for various European applications! No wonder, as the brand produces some 55,000 metres of automotive chains per day. |

Products are produced worldwide in countries including Germany, Romania, China, Korea, Japan and the US. Chain kits from iwis undergo an extensive production process to ensure quality. For instance, first a concept version is made, after which a 3D model is realised. Next, prototypes are produced and extensively tested by various machines for lubrication and tension, among other things. Finally, they go to the acceptance phase, where the product undergoes several more tests and preparation for further production begins.
In addition, iwis is known for its TRITAN technology, a coating for distribution chain pins, which ensures that chain drives are maintenance-free and gives chains a very high resistance.
