In the early 1930s, Vic Edelbrock Sr. established his first garage business in Beverly Hills. As a project, he bought a 1932 Ford Roadster and developed his aluminum intake manifold called the 'Slingshot.' It was the very first product of the famous Edelbrock brand. The Roadster became essential to product development, and the garage business became more of a performance parts shop.
After the Second World War in 1946, the first performance parts catalog, ‘Edelbrock Power and Speed Equipment’, was published, containing cylinder heads, intake manifolds, pistons, and connecting rods. Up to the early 1960s, the company grew rapidly, made its name in racing, and developed outstanding performance parts for small-block Chevrolet engines, among others.
In 1962, the company was taken over by Vic Edelbrock Jr., who developed the company into a global performance parts specialist with an extensive product range. Edelbrock is one of the most respected manufacturers of performance engine components.
